The Office of the Provost invites applications for a 100%-time Faculty Administrative 11-month appointment of Associate Provost for Academic Enhancement. The expected start date for this position is June 1, 2024. The Associate Provost will report directly to the Vice Provost for Academic Affairs and is responsible for the Center for Teaching Excellence, coordination of the campus Learning Management System, remote sites, distance education, interdisciplinary programs at the Undergraduate level, the University Honors Program, and Undergraduate Research.

20% Center for Teaching Excellence – Oversees the strategic direction of the Center for Teaching Excellence (CTE) in close collaboration with the Executive Director. Oversight includes assisting with the implementation and evaluation of new and existing programs, as well as development efforts. The Associate Provost will ensure that the direction of CTE is aligned with the Academic Roadmap of the university.
20% University Honors Program – Oversees the strategic growth of the University Honors Program (UHP) in close collaboration with the Program Director. Oversight includes facilitating the coordination of honors programs across campus at the various levels (department, college, and school), as well as the assessment of programming to determine direction, opportunities, and enhancements for both faculty and students affiliated with the University Honors Program. The Associate Provost will ensure that UHP is positioned to be a national exemplar.
20% Remote Site Coordination – Assists with and coordinates strategic planning at all remote site campuses in close collaboration with the appropriate campus constituents and remote site leadership. Coordination will maintain appropriate local control and will include best practices in higher education appropriate for remote sites.
15% Distance Education – Coordinates distance education across all disciplines in close collaboration with the Director. Suggests sustainable funding models that address teaching, learning, and technological needs. The Associate Provost will explore and suggest innovative programs and technology.
10% Interdisciplinary Programs –Guides interdisciplinary programs at the undergraduate level and closely coordinates with the Graduate and Professional School to make recommendations for graduate interdisciplinary programs. Suggests sustainable funding models that address infrastructure and teaching needs. The Associate Provost will explore and suggest innovative certificates, minors, and degrees.
10% Undergraduate Research – Oversees the strategic direction of Undergraduate Research (UGR) in close collaboration with the Associate Director. Oversight includes coordination of undergraduate research activity and programming in all disciplines. Determines undergraduate utilization of research across the various disciplines and provides support to implement evidence-based practices in mentoring. The Associate Provost will strive to Develop approaches to increase undergraduate research opportunities and decrease barriers to participation.

Required Qualifications
- Doctoral degree.
- Ten years teaching and scholarly research/creative activity to include five to ten years academic administration.
- Scholarly competence as judged by one's peers in an academic discipline, substantial research knowledge and experience.
- Ability to objectively evaluate requests and proposals.
- Ability to work well with all segments of the University community and external agencies. Tact, diplomacy, and judgment.
- Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
- Ability to communicate and work with various groups in complex, dynamic environments.
- Ability to work collaboratively with deans and other senior administrators to align the activities with the greater interests of Texas A&M University.
- Seasoned financial and budgetary management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- At least five years of senior academic administration.
- Professional experience in a higher education setting.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing strategic plans.
- Experience with faculty recruitment and personnel actions.
- Experience with aspects of Academic Programs Review and its process.
- Tenured, preferably as full professor.
