The Bush School of Government and Public Service was founded in 1997 under President George H. W. Bush’s philosophy that “public service is a noble calling.” Since then, the Bush School has continued to reflect that notion in curriculum, research, and student experience and has become a leading international affairs, political science, and public affairs institution.

With more than 260 graduate and professional programs, Texas A&M University’s Graduate and Professional School pairs world-class faculty, academic leaders, and staff with masters, doctoral and professional students to ensure student success and foster a high caliber research enterprise.

The Texas A&M University Higher Education Center at McAllen launched its first academic programs in 2017 and opened its doors in 2018. As part of Texas A&M University, the Higher Education Center at McAllen is committed to supporting the educational needs of its students by providing top-tier programs to fulfill student career goals, enhancing economic development of the region, and producing a skilled workforce.

The Chief Operating Officer and Senior Vice President reports directly to the President and is responsible for providing strategic oversight for campus operations including technology, transportation, facilities, safety, and security while ensuring that the university’s day-to-day operations are administered efficiently and effectively.

The AVP serves as the university’s chief enrollment officer and is tasked with advancing an enrollment strategy that aligns with the institutional mission, goals, core values, and resources. The AVP will work closely with university leadership around enrollment strategies and broaden the visibility and reach of Texas A&M through effective marketing and recruitment.

The Associate Provost for Academic Enhancement oversees the Center for Teaching Excellence, the University Honors Program, and coordinates and promotes Undergraduate Research; assists with coordination and strategic planning at remote sites; coordinates distance education at the university-level; provides guidance and recommendations for interdisciplinary programs; and assists the Executive Vice President and Provost and the Vice Provost for Academic Affairs with special projects.

The Associate Provost for Faculty Advocacy (APFA) is a new position that will provide advocacy for and on behalf of faculty members at Texas A&M University. This advocacy will take place through several means, including meetings with individual faculty and representing their concerns and perspectives to university administration/administrators.

The Division of Academic Affairs at Texas A&M University is seeking an Assistant Provost for Strategic Educational Partnerships who is an exceptional leader to oversee the implementation, coordination, and assessment of grants, educational initiatives, and partnerships as our division spearheads the development and delivery of academic programs and provides leadership for the advancement, implementation and assessment of student access, accountability, learning, and success initiatives.
